In part of the continuing effort to improve auction draft performance, this morning I’m happy to roll out a new draft client. It interacts better with our servers and adds a commissioner tools panel that I think will be really helpful mid-draft.
To make sure you have the latest draft client, when you next visit your draft page, make sure to refresh the page at least once.
The bulk of visible improvements are for commissioners. I’ve added some little icons to make it clearer the state of the draft:
Below the list of teams in your draft and the “I’m Done With The Draft” checkbox, there used to be a Manage Users link, but now there is a Draft Commish Tools link
Click that and you get to the good stuff:
I think all the buttons here are straightforward, but:
End Draft will entirely end your Auction Draft and get your league into the season. I get a lot of questions in the forums and over email about how to end the draft, so I added a big ol’ button to try and help you guys out.
Fix Cap Numbers is related to the issue where sometimes, the team cap available box looks off compared to their team page. I do my best to fix this from time to time on the backend, but if you noticed something for your league, this is a button you can press to hard refresh those values and keep your draft running smoothly.
The dropdown and Change Nominating Team lets you move the draft to a nominating state and pick the team that is nominating. You should not do this during a live auction, but instead during the nominaton phase, you can pause the draft and change the nominating team to whoever you want.
The combination of Change Nominating Team and the Manage rosters link should let anyone roll back any auction they want to. If a player is removed from a team, as part of rolling back an auction, and the team’s salary still looks incorrect after removing the player, you can press the Fix Cap Numbers button to force the site to update.
