# Incorrect salary for recently cut player

Keldon Johnson was recently cut in league 26. It appears from the transaction log for the [league](https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/basketball/26/transactions) and on [his player page](https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/basketball/26/player_card/45) that he had been rostered for $19. However, the [ensuing auction](https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/basketball/26/auctions/8302) appears to have allowed for a minimum bid of $5.
Any idea how that’s possible? Did the system interpret him as being cut a second time?

Shake&Bake was acquired on September 24, after the keeper deadline. I imagine they had a round of penalty-free cuts that they had not used.
You can keep an eye on teams that have penalty-free cuts in the commissioner tools under Current Managers.

Hmm okay. You’re correct they hadn’t made any cuts. Seems like this is on me as the commish - this team had payment issues so even though it was claimed, the team went back to the original owner.
I thought penalty-free cuts just meant no cap penalty on the team making them, not that there was no minimum bid anymore. Good to know!
