Gave it another try after following Niv’s spam method to get the the brainstorm joker—level 30+ for high card, further ante, but uh…lower high score

Not sure if this got answered, but High Card was the most played hand in my run because I used it a ton in the early game (I used burglar until ante 8 or so), not because it was the big point hands. My big point hands came from 5-of-a-kind hands with red stamp glass cards.
That said, you can absolutely get massive scores with high card. The less cards you play, the more cards are left in your hand for held-in-hand triggers (i.e. steel cards, baron)

I managed to get to e17 and ante 15, but it’s a lower e17 than fwsmatt. I might give it one last shot tonight
