Abandoned FF team - roster management options in season

We have one remaining team to be claimed but not sure if it will before we need to draft on 9/6 or so.

Question is can a Commissioner add/cut players to that unmanaged team in season so that it has a starting lineup? I know C can’t do start/sit changes but if I add only the players that would make up a starting lineup will the added players default to the starting line up spots or to the bench?

Adding players always results in them being default placed on the bench. There isn’t really a backdoor way to set a lineup for a team that does not have a manager at this time.
