This is my annual plug for 2 changes to baseball.
- After arbitration finishes, requiring payment before trades or cuts (teams that have paid can make cuts and trades up to the Jan 31 P/F deadline).
[Note: each of my leagues have 4-5 teams that haven’t engaged in arbitration despite requests to do so, and that’s fine…just don’t want them coming back and cutting players and dropping out as has happened in each of the prior seasons]
- Prospects. Ottoneu tries to align with MLB and though not perfect, it does a good job everywhere except our Farm system. The 40 man is not a farm system. What would be ideal is a 40 man and a 5-10-15-20-25-30 player deep Farm system (that appears either under another tab on our my team page or else is found below our active 40 man roster). The MILB/prospects would not be subject to arbitration (protected from the automatic Ottoneu increases and protected from the manager allocations).
