Basketball Draft Issues October 2025

We just completed our basketball draft, and there were a few bugs we ran into:

  1. The biggest one was that the “Find Players” feature was not very helpful. There were tons of retired/washed players in there, and some top guys just didn’t show at all (Tyrese Maxey being the biggest one in our draft).
  2. There were a few players (Cason Wallace, Isaiah Jackson, Goga Bitadze), who when they were nominated, their names did not show up where they normally would for the player who was being auctioned. It showed their team and position, but not name.
  3. It looks like Yang Hansen has not yet been categorized as being on the Blazers, so if a search was limited to NBA players, he wasn’t showing up.

I finally figured out what is going on here, and this should be fixed going forward.

I just searched for Yang Hansen in my draft room and he’s showing up as a center on Portland, so I’m not sure exactly what happened for y’all, but I’ll monitor it.

I’ve made some changes to how the draft process specifically handles its connection to the database. I believe this will help with issues where names don’t show up or players show up as being on “N/A” instead of their actual teams. I’m continuing to monitor.
