Has anyone else been having issues with the Couch Managers site today? It looks like the whole site is offline.
Yes, performance has been pretty dreadful and today it’s down altogether.
@joecatz emailed them and I guess they are dealing with an emergency upgrade right now
Correct. Mike is working on a fix and a server upgrade as of around 3:15 today. Still not quite there.
Quick update. I’ve reached out a few times since yesterday afternoon with no reply. Not sure if this is related to the server issue (have to believe it is because Mike is always very quick to reply) but as of this morning the server is still not working. If you were planning on using CM this week I would suggest thinking about bank up options if it’s not restored today.
Thank you for the update.
Are there good alternate options for doing a slow draft?
anything new, Niv, re Couch Managers? thanks much
Uh I don’t run that site
I’ll hit up Mike today. He hasn’t emailed me or anything
EDIT alright I’m full of it, he did email me and I’m going to help him get things up again today. I’ll update when I have more.
ok, I just was replying to your comment that you emailed him. I know you dont run the site, otherwise it might be better! Ha
I haven’t bugged him about this downtime, though Joe did. He reached out to me around 230am ET, and once he’s back awake I’ll talk with him about what’s going on.
thanks much, Niv.
It sounds like Mike is working closely with his hosting company to get everything back up. They have data as of yesterday when the downtime started, and the main problem has been that the new beefier server he moved to failed immediately. His hosting company is on it and hopefully we’ll see a positive update soon.
The site seems to be back up, though we haven’t fully confirmed all functionality is back.
There are still a couple of bugs Mike needs to iron out this evening, but the site is mostly back.
If you have a slow draft going, I would make sure it remains paused until I can get an all-clear from Mike that all the issues are totally sorted out. Go back and make sure any auctions that ended during downtime have time added to them so that when everything is fully back you can hit the ground running.
I do not imagine it will be much longer than tonight to get stuff sorted out.
@nivshah I know you do not run CM but as far as you know, will that site be able to turn back the clock on everything to when the site went down? Thanks for your help so far and in the future. Others who use CM- what happens when a league commissioner hits extend on a finished auction? does cap get returned to winner since it is not settled? does it use the extension time that is already set up?
I don’t really use CM so I don’t know enough about this. @joecatz or someone else who has more experience using CM for slow drafts might be able to chime in.
Any finished auction can be extended by using the interface to do so. Cap goes back to the player that won and reserves remain as prior I believe. You have to set the clock for each extension separately.
Mike just emailed me with an update.
He said the site isn’t 100% back and he’s still dealing with a few issues from the server upgrade, however he thinks it should be fully back by tomorrow night.
He said you can resume drafts if you need to, though he recommends waiting until tomorrow. Please contact him directly with any issues on CouchManagers.
Mentioning for the thread that the ‘Import Keepers’ functionality is not back yet - I have e-mailed support this morning about it
Edit: hearing this is fixed now!
