The player I cut passed through waivers and is not up for auction. Upon completion of the auction $2 will be returned to me - however my roster is currently invalid
I am over the cap by $1. My roster is invalid. I don’t want to cut anyone with a salary of $2 or more to make it valid. I want to cut a $1 player instead. If I do NOT make a cut would another owner picking up a player I cut facilitate my roster to be valid? OR do I have to get valid for the cap money to be returned to my team?
$1 players create $1 cap penalties. You must have enough free cap to fill out your roster, so if you’re in an illegal state, cutting a $1 player will never get you in a legal state.
If an auction hasn’t been started for the given player, you cannot assume it will be started.
You should get your team legal. Just because you want your team to remain in an illegal state because it is more convenient for you does not mean you should do that.
You do not need to be in a legal state for you to get cap money back. This does not mean it is ok to stay illegal in perpetuity until someone starts an auction for a player you cut.
Thanks for your clarification. Its only for one day and we aren’t earning points yet so I am ok leaving it invalid for another day.
