Jake Bauers - position player addition

I’m probably doing something very wrong, but I looked for Jake himself and Shohei, and I can’t quite figure out what.

I picked up Jake Bauers off the waiver wire this week and he’s stuck on the pitching side. Wouldn’t be terrible, but I can’t slot him into the lineup. Even when I select him on a future day and have either 1B or OF open, everything remains grayed out.

I am perfectly capable of using pitchers with career WHIPs over 2 without adding him to the mix.

Change to two-way players starting in the 2023 season

Ottoneu managers currently have to choose between receiving hitting stats or pitching stats from two-way players such as Shohei Ohtani on days they pitch, depending on if they are placed in the Util slot or a SP slot. However MLB introduced the “Ohtani rule” just before the start of this season, which allows players to both start at pitcher and be the designated hitter and remain in at DH even after being replaced at pitcher. I’ve noticed also with two-way players that when you search for them in the player database they always show up as pitchers. Can be confusing sometimes, so just noting it here in case anyone else is searching for Bauers and can’t find him.
