Do next year’s positions take effect after the automatic salary increases? It might make sense to make a new player universe whenever that is.

They take place tomorrow, so this is conveniently a player universe that shows you the state of everyone at the end of the 2023 season, and conveniently in the near future you’ll see the first 2024 player universe. So this makes sense, if you are interested in tracking those changes, which is why I published this one right now. If you aren’t, just wait until the first 2024 player universe drops.

This player universe is the first one for 2024 and will have updated position eligibility for the 2024 season.

FYI, I’ve found some duplicate players in the most recent player_universe.csv file (or at least players who I suspect are duplicates):

My strategy for identification was to identify the number of players with duplicate names. I then excluded any pair that had two different and valid FGIDs. In all cases, one of the pair was also missing a birthday.
