Matt Duffy's position eligibility

Hi

Can someone please explain why Matt Duffy is not rated as a SS. He was orginally listed as UTL when I drafted him. The rules

An offensive player is eligible to fill a position if he:

A. Played in 10 or more regular season major league games at that position in the current or preceding year.

B. Started 5 or more regular season major league games at that position in the current or preceding year.

C. Played in 20 or more regular season minor league games at that position in the current or preceding year

Since he was injured in 2017 , his numbers show:

2017 3 games at SS only position played
2016 18 starts at SS and 66 at 3rd

Thanks

Duffy come back!

You don’t get to throw this year out. The current season is 2018 and the previous season is 2017, so 2016 does not come into play.

ok so in 2017 he only played 3 games in the minors, all as a SS. Why did you choose 3rd base as his only position prior to him meeting the 2018 eligibility requirements? Thanks

Lawrence

I did not “choose” his eligibility. He has started 15 games at 3B this year and earned 3B eligibility this season.

When you drafted him, like you said, he was a UTIL only.

He was made a 3rd baseman prior to 15 games. All good though. thanks

Yes, 5 starts is all it takes to get eligibility at a position, per rule B. in your original post.
