If a team with $400.00 budget is offered a $39 player for a very low salaried prospect, what happens should the team receiving the 39 player goes over his budget by a good amount ? Does he then need to cut remaining pkayers to get back to his max budget? Or can he continue to carry new player throughout season and be over budget with no penalties?
He has to make his roster legal.
In most cases, the team giving up the $39 player would include an offsetting loan to facilitate the trade.
