Prioritize more H2H vs divisional opponents?

I’m not going to pretend to understand the nuance of the scheduling algorithm, so this may not be doable, but I noticed that, of the four teams in which we faced off only 7 times last season (as opposed to 8), three of the four were in my division. Is it possible to prioritize the scheduling algorithm so that you play all of the teams in your own division 8 times, and then the teams that you play one game fewer are all in the other division? I realize that you are still going to have two cross-division opponents that you also play 8 times, but at least this would make the divisional alignments a little more meaningful. The absolute ideal would be like how the NFL makes its schedules and the other 2 cross-divisional opponents that you play one extra game against are based on last season’s results (e.g. 2024’s 1 & 2 from East Division play 2024’s 1 & 2 from West 8 times as opposed to 7 in 2025), but I imagine that might get so complicated as to be impossible. Even just guaranteeing 8 games against all divisional opponents would give a boost to the significance of divisions I think. For context if it wasn’t clear, this suggestion is for 12-team H2H leagues that are broken up into two divisions of 6 and play an 84-game season.

I tried doing some of this stuff for a while, but it didn’t work for all the various H2H configurations:

1 2 or 3 divisions
Up to 4 matchups per week

So, I understand why this would be wanted, but I think it is best that none of the scheduling stuff is touched so long as it works.
