I understand the basics for waiver claims, but do waivers work the same as the in-season auctions in terms of how/when the winning team needs to get back under the cap and total roster size? Meaning, if a team wins a claim that then puts them over the salary/roster cap, would they then have the opportunity to cut a player or would their waiver claim get skipped entirely because winning the player would make their roster temporarily illegal?
I haven’t been able to find this particular scenario addressed on the forums or rules yet, so hoping it’s not redundant. Thanks in advance to any seasoned players who know what’s up.
