The Calendar & Finances section lists the Start of Season as March 20, 2025…but I believe the Cubs and Dodgers open on March 18 in Tokyo. (March 20 was the 2024 open in Korea, I think.) Just a small update to make in the next few weeks–if I’m not drastically wrong. Thank you, Niv! Looking fwd to another season. Cheers!

How are leagues handling auction draft dates and the two games in Japan? Is it possible for the stats to count for those games if the draft occurs after?
Ottoneu does not do retroactive lineup setting. If you draft after the games in Japan, they won’t count for your league.
If we draft after the two Japan games, does our season still start in Week 1 with the regular Opening Day games? Or will it start in Week 2?
Week 1 but the Tokyo Series games won’t count

Our league is drafting after the Japan series. Am I understanding correctly that the Japan series are included in week 1? If a manager in our league has an almost full (pre auction) roster he will be at an immediate advantage over a manager that is in rebuilding mode and comes into the auction with and somewhat empty roster. That is though if week one is counting stats. Also what i see as a disadvantage is that once our auction is complete we wont be able to put newly acquired players into active rosters for week 1 stats. I enjoy Ottoneu but also play in CBS. CBS has a feature that allows a commissioner to copy rosters back to any time period. Thus elmiminating this cunundrum. Wondering if you can see anyway around this?
- You can’t set lineups until the draft is finished for your league
- If you draft after the Japan series, then those games won’t count for your league
- If you draft before the Japan series, then those games would count
