I propose a total accumulation of time a roster spends as invalid during the season. It would be most effective, I think, on the Team Production page or Standings page (real cool if you could go back to see totals on certain dates).
I suspect most leagues self-police, but I have noticed certain teams that seem to really toe the line for what is acceptable. Seeing an accumulation over the season would provide concrete number for all to see.
Giving this another plug as we move into the last month of the season. I am already seeing teams start to aggresively bid on names in order to keep them off of other teams’ rosters. As a result, teams are more likely to have invalid rosters as they win auctions before they make moves to get legal.
I suspect this wishlist item would typically represent high counts of invalid time for teams that are out of it/have stopped tuning in. At least for the majority of the season. As things come down to the wire, however, I suspect more competitive teams would start to see their total time start to creep up.
I think this is best handled by members of a league talking to each other and having their commissioner enforce any agreed upon rules.
I’m all for what you propose as well. But currently, it’s not easy to keep track of when a roster is or was invalid- especially when it deals with IL designations that don’t have system time stamps.
