It seem like every year the same people wait until the last few days to pick out players for Arbitration. What is the advantage to waiting so long and doing it at the last minute?

It seems like every year the same people do arbitration immediately. What is the advantage to doing arbitration before the MLB post-season is completed?

Doing it early - you can identify targets for where your less shrewd, or lazier league mates should allocate funds
Doing it late - your team appears relatively higher on $ allocated to leaderboard, and may make it less likely for owners to apply marginal $ to you (plus most information)
Information. You get a bit more news about players, can see who others are targeting, etc. A little bit more information can sometimes help determine where you should allocate when it’s not super obvious (which it often is!)
It’s not all or nothing. I usually allocate at the beginning and then switch things around if it’s appropriate.
