I believe the 60-day IL designation in Ottoneu is only for the Major League injured list. This requires a player to originally be on the 40-man roster, then placed on the MLB 60-day IL and removed from the 40-man. Since Painter wasn’t on the 40-man and all reports I see say he’s on the MiLB 60-IL, he won’t appear on the Ottoneu 60.
Makes sense, I was wondering if that had something to do with it. Thanks for the clarification!
Per instructions in this thread, I reached out to Rotowire directly, and they have updated Ashby’s status. Not sure how long for it to take effect here, but it appears the source of the problem has been corrected.
Thanks for the tip on how to fix it.
Please don’t bother Rotowire about Andrew Painter. He is on the MILB 60-day IL and not eligible for the MLB 60-day IL since he’s not on the 40-man. As a result he will not give an extra roster spot in Ottoneu.
The only time to bother Rotowire is if you see an update from them that someone is on the MLB 60-day IL and the corresponding player page on Rotowire shows “15-day IL” or “10-day IL” instead of “60-day IL”.
Everything @weezy said in this thread about Andrew Painter is correct and now I’m getting emails from Rotowire making sure I know that Andrew Painter is flagged correctly in their DB and its a waste of everyone’s time.
I apologize, I just didn’t see any confirmation on what weezy said and I also thought we get the 7IL designations for MILB players so I just thought I’d check. I’ll leave it alone.
I don’t show 60IL for MiLB because it confuses people because they want a roster spot for a player who is not on the 40-man. There is a 7-day IL for concussions in the majors as well, so we just show all 7IL designations.
I’ve tried to add a “MILB 60IL” designation for players that are not in the majors and never added to their team’s 40-man but are on their minor league team’s 60IL. This designation does not add a roster spot to your team.
2 posts were split to a new topic: Jordan Lawlar on MILB 60IL
Angel Martinez was added to the Guardians 60-day IL on April 17, according to MLB.com. He was added to Cleveland’s 40-man roster in 2022, according to this CBS Sports article authored by Rotowire Staff.
However, his ottoneu player profile has him not on the 40-man and with no 60-day IL designation (thus no open roster spot).
Figured I would post here in case there was some issue causing this to not link correctly. Or maybe I’m not understanding the rules correctly.
This should be fixed now, and he’s correctly giving an extra roster spot.
He was on the major league roster when he was put on the 10-day IL. You cannot promote/demote playerse on the IL, so he is on the major league 60-day IL now. This is to say, this isn’t the same as Jordan Lawlar’s situation
Since he hadn’t had his major league debut yet, his player IDs were not linked up. Linking them up fixed the issue.
Still seeing Trevor Story on 10 day IL, moved to 60 day, yesterday.
Per the first post in this thread you replied to:
- We do not manually manage the 60-day IL
- We pull the latest injury information from our injury provider, Rotowire, very regularly
- Sometimes they have information that is out of date, in which case I’m happy to email them if I am available. Please post to this thread if you see someone with an incorrect injury status.
- You can also contact Rotowire directly . They are very responsive.
A brief Google search takes me to the Rotowire Trevor Story page:
Where you can see they still have him on the 10-day IL. I would recommend reaching out to Rotowire.
Thanks!
Trevor Story is now on the 60IL on Rotowire’s page, and should be on the 60 in Ottoneu shortly.
Hey - not sure where to go with this question. Spencer Strider has been out for a month, had surgery, and will NOT be coming back in 2024. Is he not on the 60 day IL yet? I still only see him on the 15 day IL, which means I can’t add another player. Are the Braves just dragging their feet? Thanks.
He is on the 15-day IL.
MLB teams have to add a player to the 40 in order to move a player to the 60-day IL, and that has a lot of financial implications, so they often will wait if they don’t have a pressing need to add a player to their 40-man roster.
