found another odd dupe here but its likely to cause a different issue since its not Carlos Boozer’s kid but people are prob thinking it is if they are going just off of name
There’s probably a good argument neither of these guys should show up in search, but they aren’t duplicates of anyone - they are different humans.
Sorry to rez this, but sent me down a rabbit hole. These two transferred to a DII school, which wouldn’t be in the player universe normally (I’m guessing why their school didn’t update):
But no one else seems to update this info either–BBRef, ESPN, etc. It’s interesting that players can seemingly disappear–in general, not specific to ottoneu–to all but places like realgm, which seems to be the baseballcube of basketball sites, heh.
Yes, like I said in my post, both Zameron Booker and Cameron Booker linked here are 1) real humans that aren’t Carlos Boozer’s HS kid and 2) probably shouldn’t be showing up in search.
They are not duplicates of anyone and aren’t related to the previous issues in this thread.
EDIT: Also I am not sure who needs to hear this, but there are no high school basketball players in the Ottoneu player universe.

Yeah, I hope it was clear that I was just intrigued by what happened to these guys after their Freshman year–especially as I remember them coming up at some point in the past (possibly just during the live auction, year one, when the meaning of the word “depth” lost all tether to reality).

I’ve made a change to the basketball player universe to only include players who have been rostered this season. As rosters are released for college teams, this should start looking pretty complete.
After the 2024-25 season, the requirement to show up in the player universe will to be rostered in the previous 2 seasons.
I believe this should cut down significantly on players that are no longer playing appearing in search results, etc.
EDIT: I meant to add: please let me know either here or email or on Slack if there are players you can no longer find in the player universe.

The basketball player universe has been updated accordingly.
We have dropped to 9118 active players from 17037. I believe this should be a marked improvement in terms of finding the actual players you want to roster.

It looks like there is a misspelling of Egor Demin’s name (Real Madrid/BYU, original version Egor Denim). This is going to require a bit of surgery, and I’ll report back when its all fixed up.

The incorrect “Egor Denim” has been removed from the player universe. The one team that rostered him is now rostering the correct “Egor Demin”.
