Hey Niv, PayPal, click click done. Venmo, click click done. Paydala, please refer to the instruction manual. I just wanted to give some honest feedback about Paydala. People shouldn’t have to read tutorials to give you money. That’s not the best business model? I tried using it to pay for multiple leagues and it was incredibly frustrating—my device flagged the site, the location verification didn’t work on my computer (even though it works fine on other sites), and when I finally managed to pay for one league, I went to do the next and got a “User not found” error. All the same issues I had the last time I had to pay for my leagues. I think there’s a reason no one’s ever heard of paydala. I feel almost gross giving them my credit card information like I’m scoring a dime bag by the dumpsters in the back of the high school. “maybe this was a bad idea”…
I’ll pass along technical notes to their team.
As I’ve described multiple times in these forums, we do not have any alternatives for payment processors. Paydala is willing to work with us and their experience has improved 10x since we launched with them 2 years ago. I expect their experience to continue to improve, and while fantasy sports remain in this absolutely absurd legal gray area, Ottoneu remains grateful that we have partners that recognize that season-long fantasy sports should not be considered gambling.
The “user not found” error may be on our end, and I will look into it.
Location services vary greatly from browser to browser, and I would highly recommend not using Safari, as it basically makes location verification, which we are required to have by law, impossible.
I should also add that there have been literally 0 instances of fraud reported since we integrated with Paydala. We had sporadic double charges early on due to my implementation, and Paydala in each case worked with me quickly to refund those charges.
There are very strict regulations that companies have to adhere to in order to process credit cards. Paydala’s value as a partner is that they strictly follow these regulations, which means we have a very secure payment flow with very little risk of fraud.
I find it somewhat contradictory to say that the site that requires more security with location checks to align with various regulations feels somehow less secure than sites that will take information unsecurely and follow almost no regulations. PayPal was a bad partner that does not follow legal regulations at all and could take our money at any time. Paydala is the opposite of that. I feel like that should be welcomed by customers who are security-minded.
fair enough. I was a bit of a d**k out of frustration. It is a bummer to navigate though. In a world where attention spans are at an all time low. I think you might shoot yourself in the foot with this institution. What about venmo as an option if the user eats any fees?
Venmo does not allow Fantasy Sports on their platform.
Here is you complaining about this 1.5 years ago with all the answers I gave then.
There has to be a better way to process a $20 payment for a fantasy league than Paydala? Cant login, cant create an account. This seems like third world banking! Any idea how to even deposit money without taking a stupid tutorial? There has to be a better way!
Paydala:
- Click on credit card
- Type in credit card number
- Done
That is pretty good. No one is storing your information, which means hackers can’t get to your information.
People who are asking for their data to be stored are asking for potential privacy violations. I do not understand why someone would want that.
Anyway Paydala is extremely simple. If you need a tutorial in entering numbers into a box, I am not sure what to tell you.
The credit card box is gray and will not allow me to put in a card.
Yes, incoming payments are temporarily paused. That is covered in this thread which is linked to on every single football league page and I recommend you read in full. I should have an update in that thread today.
Is there any update on the payment system? Paydala is not working and just sends me on a loop of requests for verification info from my bank before it times out after half a dozen 6-digit verification codes. There has to be a simpler way.
Please read this thread, which is linked to in the 2025 year end thread and on the top of every football and basketball page:
If you are having trouble withe secure bank payments via Paydala, just email me - banks change how their sites work all the time and Paydala is very quick to update their system if a specific bank is causing problems.
