I’ve rolled out some changes to the Ottoneu Fantasy Baseball Roster Organizer.
As some of you have noticed, the total salary used now includes cap penalties. Now when you move players to the Cut area of the Roster Organizer, the total salary will reflect the cap penalty induced by the cut. There is also a breakdown of base salaries and cap penalties so you can see exactly where your overall cap is going.
I’ve added a third toggle to the Roster Organizer, which allows you to enter “Off-season Mode”. This mode is permanently enabled during the actual off-season. In this mode, you no longer have access to 60IL spots, loans no longer are in effect, and all cap penalties are wiped.
Finally, I’ve added a box that indicates if your roster would or would not be valid, based on having 0 or more free roster spots and $0 or more dollars of free cap, with enough free cap to fill out any available roster spots with $1 players.
Here are a couple of screen shots of my Roster Organizer that show these changes:
You can see that because of the lack of 60IL spots in the second screenshot, the Roster Organizer indicates that my roster in that state would not be a valid one.
I believe this will help on a few fronts:
- The Roster Organizer now finally properly reflects the various states of the Ottoneu calendar and lets you plan accordingly.
- This makes it a lot easier to plan for winning an auction at various price points, as you can see if your roster would be valid depending on who you’d cut.
I am certain there are interactions here that I haven’t considered fully - Roster Organizer is getting to be a pretty complicated part of the site! - so please let me know if you run into any bugs by posting to the TechSupport forum.
Thanks as always for supporting Ottoneu Fantasy Sports!
