Thanks for another great year of Ottoneu Fantasy Baseball. Congrats to everyone who won their leagues and special shout out to Hill Valley Bulldogs, the winner of the 2024 OPL. Here’s what to expect over the next few days:
Today, Tuesday October 1: We have rolled over to the 2025 season. This means we’re now in the offseason, and you can make any league setting changes you’d like to see take place next year. This includes division renaming or realignment. Positions will update for the 2025 season and trophies should be appearing in trophy cases. Pitching points have been removed from any teams that have not reached minimums.
The underlying data provider behind FanGraphs and Ottoneu is still working through final data for the doubleheader yesterday. As such there may be some changes to final league results in season-long leagues once we get these stats in. Once these stats are in and our results are finalized, I will update this thread.
Friday, October 4: Once everything feels solid, the prize trackers should be finalized for both OPL and Ottoneu Fantasy Baseball. The withdrawal options remain the same from last year - automated paper check or digital withdrawal, with the option to use your Ottoneu Fantasy Baseball balance to pay for team renewal. If anyone wants to use their OPL balance to pay for a team, please email help@ottoneu.com and I’ll work on it depending on interest. I should have the OPL t-shirt and bat prizes in the store by Friday as well.
Monday, October 7: We’ll do our end of year stuff - cap penalties and loans will be removed, default salary increases will be applied, etc.
Tuesday, October 15: Arbitration opens until 11:59pm ET on November 14
Last year went pretty smoothly all things considered, and I hope to have it go smoothly again this year. Just like last year, let’s slide in a plug for Playoff Six Picks and be sure to email help@ottoneu.com with any questions.
I’m deeply appreciative to all of you for making Ottoneu the best fantasy community and fantasy game in the world. Thanks again for another great season and thanks as always for all your support.
I believe this is the end of 2024 player universe with end of 2024 position eligibility. I’m basing this on Spencer Steer still having 2B. I will publish a very early 2025 player universe later this week.
Stat corrections are set and the season has been rolled over to 2025. Now you can make offseason league setting changes, and tomorrow I should be able to publish a player universe with 2025 position eligibility.
Please let me know if you have any issues with any specific stat lines or any other questions or concerns. You can post to this thread or email help@ottoneu.com
I’ll be back to this thread on Friday with prize updates!
I’m looking into the issue where H2H leagues and playoff leagues are not showing final standings correctly because of the Monday games. I’ll update once that is fixed.
UPDATE: H2H and playoff leagues should be displaying correctly - please let me know if not.
I’m continuing to look into a few small issues ahead of doling out prizes. I don’t expect this to take an inordinate amount of time, and I appreciate everyone’s patience.
Prizes will be out tomorrow. I need to re-run removing points from 4x4 teams that did not make their league’s minimum IP, but I do not expect that to be a major issue. I understand why it didn’t take earlier and have some stuff in place to prevent that in the future.
The other issue was making sure that OPL prizes were given to the manager that ran that team on the last day of the season, not whoever is the manager now. With some early off-season team turnover, I want to make sure that the right people are getting prizes. As long as you are the manager of your team on the last day of the Ottoneu season, you will receive league and OPL prizes for that team.
With these two issues resolved, we’re all clear to get prizes out tomorrow and get those default salary increases on the board Wednesday. From there we are clear for arbitration to start on the 15th.
Prizes have been sent out. You can find them on your user dashboard by clicking on the Prize and Refund tracker. Please let me know if you see anything incorrect, either by emailing me or posting on the forums. If your league changed over to a prize league sometime in the last week, we may have incorrectly given you a prize - please be honest and let me know!
You can use your prize balance to pay for your team renewals. You can also withdraw that balance via check or over the internet using Paydala.
I’ve seen a lot of double-payments out of balance. I think those buttons need to be disabled on click, and I’m looking into it.
UPDATE: These buttons are now disabled when you click to pay for a team out of a balance or withdraw a balance. Hopefully that will reduce any doubling up that was happening.
I am temporarily disabling Paydala withdrawals while I get some clarity on why we’re seeing an increased number of failures. I should have some clarity tomorrow, but in the mean time I can endorse the check option or renewing your teams from your available balance.
The only option available to me is physical check, digital transfer isn’t working. Is this normal? I am ok with a check though I’d prefer the transfer.
I did see that sorry. Was confused. I thought all payments came from Paydala both physical check and digital. No rush. Things will get sorted I am sure. Thanks for the quick reply.
Yeah I don’t have massive concern about Paydala, just had some errors from users who had no issues last time around. They have already acknowledged my question and are investigating.
Checks are from a different provider, and for anyone curious here is my post announcing this option:
